Another Amazing Day
Our second day was challenging with spectacular views and some wonderful villages. We walked on old Roman roads where the stones have been worn on one side by millions of pilgrims over thousands of years. The wheat fields were blowing gracefully in the wind - a very special moment. There was a small rest stop in the olive trees where they were asked for donations to expand their operation.

We went thru four small villages which are dominated by churches which date back centuries. The houses were built from stones and the families are in their 10th generation in the same home. The villages are small and quaint and very clean.
The views from the walk were spectacular - looking across valleys with crops and stone hillside rising to beautiful heights.
Tonight is another hotel with wonderful food and house wines that are very special. We are feeling good and looking forward to a fun walk tomorrow.
Wow. This history major is enjoying every moment of your vivid descriptions. That Roman road is a fabulous connection to those who came before us!!
ReplyDeletePhotos are wonderful. So happy for you two pilgrims!
