Fish Allergy Placard
We worked with a friend who has very good Spanish language skills to get a placard made for Dianne. We wanted something we could show to the servers in Spain to make sure they understood that Dianne has a severe fish allergy.
Basically it says: I am severely allergic to food which comes from the sea (all shellfish, mollusks and ocean fish).
Please make sure that my food does not come into contact with any seafood or with implements used in the preparation of same.
Contact with even small amounts of seafood creates anaphylactic shock which can result in my immediate hospitalization.
I used Word to build the placard and printed it on stiff stock so it stands up well. We will also print some smaller versions we can hand the servers. Hopefully this helps us avoid Dianne having an incident with seafood accidentally being served.
We did our first ‘weigh in’ on our luggage today. Both bags are roughly 35 pounds and the maximum is 44 while we are walking the Camino. We still have more to add to each bag but hopefully we can stay under the limit so we can pick up small things during our travels. Once we get to Santiago which is the end of our trip we will buy all the presents for people – our weight limit when we fly is 70 pounds!
It's getting exciting!
Have fun packing
